Ernest V, Retired US Navy Veteran

The journey to a ‘Yes’

After what was described as over 40 job applications, and just as many ‘Nos’, Ernest came to Still Serving Veterans. He faced challenges in creating a “civilian friendly” resume that accurately translated his skills. SSV assisted him with this challenge as well as increasing the overall competitiveness of his online presence. Ernest worked with our Veteran Career Counselors to create this resume as well as improve his LinkedIn profile.

“During my first appointment, we discussed my resume, LinkedIn page, and ways to make them more competitive and seen by more people.”

As a result, he was able to find a job he enjoyed within a month. He is currently working in supply chain as a warehouse manager alongside other Veterans.

“I was able to find a job that I enjoy doing and I get to work with other veterans with similar experiences… I am now employed in a new career field within supply chain, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Finding rewarding civilian career opportunities after service can be difficult, but SSV is here to help! We are very excited that Ernest had the courage to reach out for help and has found a career where he can thrive and work with others who have shared his experiences.

“SSV matched me with employers who are looking for someone like me.”
