Christmas Tree Cutting 2011
1. CHRISTMAS TREES – Anyone with access to Redstone Arsenal is authorized to cut trees on a self-serve basis in the old storage yard area on Warehouse Road, which is located across from/west of building 7427. Trees cannot be cut for commercial or unauthorized use, only for personal use in your home or office. The gate entering the area has been marked with orange flagging for easy recognition. The tree cutting area is completely surrounded with a chain link fence. Vehicle travel will be limited to the one road entering the gate and the two turn around roads plotted on the accompanying map. Any further travel will be on foot, so work boots or protective footwear is strongly suggested. Cutting operations will be limited to inside the Christmas tree cutting area only. Extreme caution should be exercised to prevent straying outside the area or off the access route and removing any objects other than a Christmas tree. Trees can be cut only between Dec. 7 and Dec. 24, during the hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The trimmings should not be left on grassed rights-of-way or access roads.
2. For further information and location map, contact personnel at the Outdoor Recreation Office, Building 5132, 876-4868 or the installation forester’s office at 313-3258.
