There is something to be said about volunteering time and energy into a project or a person that you know can never repay you. It is easier to complete a task knowing what the outcome may be or seeing the goal within eye-shot. But what an awesome and freeing feeling it is to do something that benefits someone else.
Servicemembers do this every day and not just while active in the military, many also come home and continue to help their community with nothing asked in return. Being a member of the military instills purpose and family and it is often easier for Veterans to transition when they can keep these values alive in their civilian community. Volunteering is a great way to reignite the fire within that comes from having a mission in civilian life. Veteran volunteers are especially invaluable to other Servicemen and women when looking for assistance because they know the person who is helping them has walked the same path.
Still Serving Veterans is an organization that is doing the same. Many of the staff members at Still Serving Veterans have served in the military and have a great wealth of knowledge to help educate and empower their fellow Servicemen and women. Still Serving Veterans offers assistance that range from filing claims, resume writing, and education aid and training.
