Over the years, we have received a number of awards, accolades, and accreditations for our work in the Veteran community.  While it is certainly wonderful to receive recognition for what we do here at Still Serving Veterans, our goals and initiatives would never be realized nor would they be achieved without your support.  Consider the awards and accreditations listed below as testaments; proofs of the greater community's proclivity for rising up in concert to provide aid and support to those in need.

The Spirit of Hope Award

In 2009, SSV was nominated and awarded the Spirit of Hope Award in Washington, DC.

Each year, the Armed Forces of the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, and the Office of the Secretary of Defense each nominate an individual or an organization whose patriotism and service to members of the United States Armed Forces reflects the values of Bob Hope. The recipients of the ‘Spirit of Hope Award’ contributed an extraordinary amount of time, talent or resources to significantly enhance the quality of life of service members and their families serving around the world, and epitomize the values of Bob Hope: duty, honor, courage, loyalty, commitment, integrity and selfless dedication.

Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Approved Charity

In 2011, SSV received accreditation from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for the National/International Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) as a National Center of Excellence.

The CFC today is known to be the most inclusive workplace giving campaign in the world with the number of participating charities estimated at over 20,000 nonprofit charitable organizations worldwide. The charities supported through the CFC range from nascent community groups to large, well-known charities.

 Alabama Association of Nonprofits

In 2013 Still Serving Veterans became a member of the Alabama Association of Nonprofits.

The Alabama Association of Nonprofits (AAN) is a membership based organization formed to serve the needs of Alabama’s growing nonprofit sector.

Community Blueprint Partner

In 2011, SSV was selected as one of 14 sites nationwide to implement a Community Blueprint to develop key resource centers for Veteran services. Since then SSV staff has made over 1,000 quality referrals to existing local, State, and Federal service organizations.

The Community Blueprint is a set of tools and practices that provide a framework for communities to produce positive, measurable outcomes for veterans, military members and their families. The goal of the Community Blueprint Network is to have hundreds of communities with teams helping veterans, military and their families.

Best in America Seal

In 2012, SSV received the Independent Charities Best in America Seal.

The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to the members of Independent Charities of America. ICA requires an accurate and meticulous independent review to certify, document and demonstrate that a non-profit applying for the Best in America Seal has the ability on an annual basis to meet the highest standards of public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost effectiveness. These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, which is probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed the standards, and, fewer than 2,000 companies have been awarded the ICA Seal. Still Serving Veterans proudly displays its Best in America Seal.
